The Allium Bangkok

Balanced flavors and texture combinations are key at this restaurant. The dedication to fresh ingredients is evident throughout the menu, if not from the in-house balcony herb garden. The best way to try it all is with their curated menus, and you’ll be able to choose from three options of Plant Based (from B1,800 for six courses), Seasons (B2,480) and Nature (B2,980), with the option to top up for a sommelier pairing (starting from B1,500).

3/F, The Athenee Hotel, 61 Wireless Rd., Bangkok, Thailand, 02-650-8800. Open Tue-Sat noon-2:30pm, 6-10:30pm.

Savelberg

Don’t expect coq au vin here. French cuisine gets a refreshing update, with a predominantly light, citrusy-centric palette. Choose between the four-course menu at B3,000, the six-course B3,700 and the eight-course B5,000. Savelberg’s deep knowledge of traditional French cooking styles and mastery of produce is apparent, and checks all the boxes for a satisfying fine dining experience.

G/F, Oriental Residence, 110 Wireless Rd., Bangkok, Thailand, 02-252-8001. Open daily noon-2pm, 6-9pm.

JP French Restaurant

If you’ve got a hankering for well-executed French food, look no further than JP’s simple, authentic, produce-centric bistro menu. French classics Tartare de Boeuf, Boeuf en Croûte, and the Escargots are done right, and at prices that put some of the competition to shame.

59/1 Sukhumvit Soi 31, Bangkok, Thailand, 02-258-4247. Open Mon-Sat 10:30am-1:30pm, 5:30-10pm.

Blue by Alain Ducasse

Legendary French Chef Alain Ducasse’s first venture in Thailand is a welcome addition to Bangkok’s fast-growing fine dining scene. Expect flavorful seasonal dishes that marry local flavor preferences and ingredients with French technique. Try the Blue Crab, Tomato Water Gelée and Gold Caviar starter (B2,250) for example, which features three different kinds of tomato, a gelée slow-cooked for 12 hours with an array of spices and chilies, and a topping of exclusive gold caviar.

Room Unit L101, 1/F, IconLuxe, IconSiam, 299 Charoen Nakhon Rd., Bangkok, Thailand, 02-005-9412. Open daily 11am-10pm.

Exclusively for Citi credit card members:

(Blackout dates are 23-25 and 31 Dec ’20, 1 Jan ’21 and 14 Feb ’21)

Le Normandie

Bangkok foodies would already be familiar with this two Michelin-starred restaurant. Get ready to indulge in perfectly-executed French Haute cuisine, with innovative seasonal menus that are unabashedly French. This season’s menu (THB 7,500 or THB 6,400 without caviar and cheese) sees potato, caviar with sea urchin.

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, 48 Oriental Avenue, 02-659-9000, Open Mon-Sat noon – 2:30pm, 7-10pm

Exclusively for Citi credit card members:
Get 10% discount on tasting menu 5, 6, and 8-course for lunch and dinner (Mon - Thu) when you pay with Citi ULTIMA, Citi Prestige, Citi Premier, Citi Mercedes and Citi Royal Orchid Plus Preferred and Select

J'AIME by Jean-Michel Lorain

This restaurant serves up an “eclectic fine dining” experience, with an upside-down theme throughout the premises. The food served however, is classic French fare that incorporates local ingredients. Opt for steamed umemadai served with parsnip julienne and truffle butter (B2,030) and mille-feuille “Napoleon” (B280).

U Sathorn Bangkok, 105, 105/1 Soi Ngam Duphli, Bangkok, Thailand, 02-119-4899. Open Thu-Sun noon-2:30pm, 6-9:30pm; Mon noon-2:30pm, 6-9:30pm; Wed 6-9:30pm.

Exclusively for Citi credit card members:
