Bangkok Trading Post Bistro & Deli

Located beside the lobby entrance of 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok, this lofty dining venue oozes out luxurious vibes with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook a lush green garden, white marble tables, and teak wood accents. The book-thick menu features comfort dishes like soup, pizza, pasta, along with classic desserts and pastries. Hop there during breakfast to nibble on a hazelnut croissant (B75) that comes covered in mellow chocolate sauce and baked nuts, or the more filling options like mixed berry pancakes with fresh whipped cream (B270).

137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok, Sukhumvit soi 39, 02-079-7133. Open daily 6am-11pm. BTS Phrom Phong

Casa Lapin

From humble origins as a rabbit-hole-sized nook on Thonglor, the oh-so-trendy Casa Lapin has steadily been one of Bangkok’s favorite coffee shops and has shown no signs of slowing down. The all-day breakfast menu offers crowd-pleasers like the sourdough croque madame (B240), syrup-drenched French toast with berries (B280), and a Nutella lava croissant (B240) with a perfectly crispy outside and chocolate sauce. Coffee options include drip (which we highly recommend,  starts from B150) and Aeropress.

CPS Coffee

With three branches across ICONSIAM, Terminal 21, and CentralFestival Eastville, CPS Coffee has cut out a niche among the trendy shopping crowd. The cafe presides over coffee made of two signature bean collections blended specifically for CPS Coffee: Copper Stout and Amber Ale, tea blends (left to infuse for up to 12 hours), and a respectable selection of fresh and light croissants to give you a bit of energy before hitting the shops. We like the classic butter version (B110) whose texture leans to the dense side and goes well with the piccolo latte (B100).

M/F, Terminal 21, Sukhumvit Rd., 063-494-4036. Open Mon-Fri 6am-9pm; Sat-Sun 8am-9pm. BTS Asoke

Kenn’s Coffee & Croissant

Tucked inside Sathorn soi 7, this coffee shop is an oasis for Sathorn office workers to get their morning vices—freshly made croissants included. Try the chocolate croissant (B70) filled with imported French dark chocolate, or the smoked ham and cheese croissant (B105) whose the crisp skin goes well with the salty hint from housemade smoked ham. Non-caffeine options include iced chocolate (B85) with tender flavor and just the right amount of sweetness.

163/2 Sathorn soi 7, 066-149-5451. Open daily 7:30am-3pm. BTS Chong Nonsi

Landhaus

This bakery is known for its tie with Austrian pastry powerhouse Gragger & Cie, and has daily made bread and pastries that are both delicious and mesmerizing. A concrete and steel baking oven churns out wonderful rye, brown bread (the Florianer, B120), almond croissant (B80) filled with almond cream with baked almond on top, and Australian’s classics like cheese breadsticks (B45).

18 Phahon Yothin Soi 5, 081-902-9183. Open Tue-Sun 6am-6pm

La Patis

Well known for its snack boxes and catering service, La Patis (as you can probably guess by the name) churns out a lot of croissants, too, and makes them daily using French butter. Their range includes an aromatic chocolate croissant (B50 for small/B75 for large), raspberry croissant (B55 for small/B85 for large), mini matcha (B55), and croque croissant (a butter croissant filled with ham, cheese, and white sauce, B135). Other pastries options range from the classics, such as apple turnover (B90) and brownie (B180/2 pieces), to fancier dishes like canele (rum flavored pastries with custard filling, B60), and Kouign Amann (puff pastry containing layers of butter and sugar, B70).

G/F Emquatier, 094-487-1159. Open 10am-10pm. BTS Phrom Phong

Maison Eric Kayser

Known for his signature baguettes and croissants, Eric Kayser is the fourth generation of a family of bakers and has opened more than 110 outlets worldwide in little over a decade. Step inside this French artisan boulangerie to indulge in varieties of breads, croissants, pastries, sandwiches, as well as light meals and customised pastries using local ingredients. Our favorites include mini chocolate almond croissant (B55) topped with sliced almonds and icing sugar, apple and cinnamon danish (B35), and lemon tart (B120) which is zesty yet sweet.

103 Thonglor Between Soi 3-5, 02-712-9070. Open daily 6:30am-9pm. BTS Thong Lo

Paris Mikki

At Paris Mikki, all cakes and pastries are baked daily in limited numbers. The menu—which rotates depending on seasonal ingredients—is packed with croissant like the pur beurre (B85), St. Honore (B280), tarte au chocolat (B165) and mille-feuille (a layering of puff pastry and pastry cream, B190). You can also call to reserve the sweets as they often sell out.

1/F Metha Wattana, 27 Sukhumvit Soi 19, 088-870-0020. Open daily 9:30am-8pm. BTS Nana

Paul

Best known for producing bread, the bakery empire has opened over 400 branches throughout the world without ever letting standards drop. Pastries (strawberry millefeuille), cakes (lemon and raspberry sponge cake) and croissants are just as good as the baguette. Croissant options ranging from plain (B75), almond (B110), to ham cheese (B150). For heavier choices, try the croissant & egg benedict with ham (B290) or croissant & egg benedict with smoked salmon (B300)

1/F Central Embassy, 1031 Ploenchit Rd., 02-001-5160. Open daily 9am-10pm. BTS Ploenchit

Rue de Mansri

This part photography studio, part chic cafe is well known for its vintage vibe and croissants that are one of the best in town. The photogenic interior combines vintage furnishings and knick-knacks—scaler, ship signaling lights, old suitcases—with chandeliers, decorative window bars, and scenic paintings for a cozy, rustic feel. Be sure to try their signature iced Marocchino (B75), an indulgent mix of chocolate, milk and espresso. For something more filling, order the ham cheese croissant (B45) or chocolate croissant (B45). All pastries are baked daily.
