Bangkok is no stranger to the electronic music game, and we’re seeing more and more of it every year. Now, another heavy-hitter is coming to town when German techno icon Sven Vath spins the decks in Thailand for the first time at Live Arena RCA this Jan 5, 2019.

In a collaboration between Singha Music and hip Bangkok beer bar Mustache, the Live Arena RCA’s stage will be dominated with Vath’s blasting vinyl-only performance—something he has become famous for through his 40-odd years in the techno industry.

The four decades behind the decks aren’t just a resume-padder in Vath’s case. His influence has helped cultivate the underground house and techno scenes not only in Germany but many other corners of the world. The club he opened in 2004, Cocoon, has been a must-go spot for those seeking the more melodic side of Frankfurt’s house and techno circuit.

Mustache Bar is no stranger to the scene, either. Holding its reputation as one of Bangkok’s best after-hours clubs, it has welcomed an impressive list of DJs and renowned artists and cultivated a space where people can unleash their post-work stresses with all manner of fiery dancing.
