We’ve all become a little more acquainted with our homes these days. Here’s how you can make the most of it.

The concept of “home” has changed for a lot of us over the past couple of months. We’ve gone from living in and out of the home to being inside most of the time. That’s changed in recent weeks with end of lockdown measures, but our extended time at home during the pandemic has highlighted how personal our homes can be. It’s also highlighted, for us, how small changes to a space can really make it come alive. It’s less about feng shui and more about the emotional impact of change, personalization and novelty. With the past months in mind, here are some tips to maximize space in your Bangkok condo, and make it a little more your own.

Workspace

Keep it organized and separate from your personal space

Seems like we all have offices at home these days, but too often we blend personal and professional spaces at home and it can hurt productivity. It sounds simple, but adding some sleek, moveable office organizers go a long way. If your office doubles as an entertainment space, consider moving them when it comes time to relax.

Product Suggestion: The ARRAY office accessory collection in natural wood with white accents.

Keep some inspiring reading material nearby

Screen breaks throughout the workday at home make a big difference. We like to keep a handful of our favorite magazines (hello, The New Yorker) nearby when we want to take a rest on the waves of emails. But magazines and books create clutter if unorganized. A small magazine rack is a great solution to this. Keeps your favorite reads handy, but it’s size means you have to pick and choose wisely.

Product suggestion: The Jeanne metal magazine rack

Kitchen

Little touches of color make the difference

We’ve all become a little more familiar with our kitchens these days. Little touches of organized color go a long way to making the space feel alive. Don’t turn your cooking den into a Salvatore Dali painting or anything, but a few well-placed, colorful containers will add a lot of warmth and personality.

Product Suggestion: The EDO ceramic collection in natural wood with white accents.

Get a dish rack that doesn’t suck

Doing the dishes kinda sucks, but it’s even worse if you don’t have a spot to hang them after washing. A tiny dish rack will fill up quickly and, once it is full, you’ll probably stop doing the dishes until “later”. Whenever that comes. Invest in a good dish rack, trust us.

Product suggestion: The Panda dish drainer it has some size, but it still great for small spaces.

Bathroom

Make it feel like a spa

A clean, organized and tastefully decorated bathroom has an undeniable comfort to it. Properly dressed with some quality containers for soap and other toiletries, bathrooms start to become a place where you feel pampered, even if you are just washing up. This is another area where we would suggest investing in quality.

Product Suggestion: The Philippe Grey soapstone collection will bring a nice sense of style to your bathroom

Add some light tones

Light tones are naturally comforting, in any room of the house, but especially the bathroom. If you are kitting out your place, get some nice light toned bathroom decor to help amplify the warmth of the room. It will also make the space appear cleaner, which will boost your mood.

Product suggestion: The Ilo Soap collection  made with polyresin to create a classic terrazzo look.

Living Room

Add a nice side table

The living room is your ultimate personal space. It’s where you come and go to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. A nice side table to put that morning coffee, afternoon tea, or nightime drink is a must. This is also a good chance to add some nice natural wood to the space, and add a bit of style without sacrificing functionality.

Product Suggestion:  The Nina Oak side table  designed by Baptiste Lannewill adds a nice multi-layered look, and can still hold the goods with style points.

Out of the way storage

Storage is key in any small space, not just the home office where your papers are. The living room is your relaxation space, so you should have all of your favorite items nearby. But it’s also best keep neat if you want to preserve that sense of relaxation. Some nice, out of the way, storage space (the kind that clings to a wall) fits the bill.

Product suggestion:  Barnabe Wall storage with pockets has all kinds of space for small items and knick knacks, but it won’t get in the way.
