It’s finally time for a long weekend again, and we’re ready. There’s plenty of live music to check out this weekend from the house and tech at Culture Cafe to an artsy day of tunes and visuals at Noise House Lat Phrao. For you foodies out there, the big one is the Meatchop and Rivals, but don’t forget to give your Mother’s Day weekend an early start with a four-hand dinner. Let’s get this long weekend started.

Ali Gerami at Bar.Yard

It's back to Bar.Yard this weekend, the winner of the BAD Awards Best Rooftop Bar Award for three years running, for a special DJ set from DJ Ali Gerami, who comes to Bangkok via Tehran for a one-night event, all starting at 8pm at a bar with great cocktails and an even better view. The Meatchop & Rivals

This event, held on Aug 7 for one day only is with the city’s beloved Meatchop, which is inviting Chef Mo of Mo Munchies and Batt Tempura along with the local team Chef Kong and Chef Jate for a meaty showdown. The Stagiaires' Shift

Kizomba Connection

We don’t know how or why, but Latin dance has really taken off on the Bangkok nightlife scene, and this weekly event will take place at Saint of Salt Bistro and Bar on Soi 11. Weekend Heroes 

B600 (B400 presale) gets you in the door at Mustache for this Jagermeister and Mustache sponsored event featuring Afterlife, Diynamic, Siona, and Anjunabeats. Dennis Lee will be opening the party up starting at 10pm, and you can expect this party to go very late. More info here, Mustache 

Bangkok Island Beach Club – Soft Opening

You know Bangkok Island’s river parties, now get to know their riverside hang. From Aug 8-10, they’ll be throwing a three-day rager. The events kick off on Friday with the Latin Fever + River Grooves featuring free salsa and bachata dance classes, complete ith DJ Yuki playing house and tech house. Sip into Island Vibes

Nusa Cana Tropical Island Rum and tropical beats are found at Aloft this weekend, featuring guest mixologist Der Masso starting at 7pm at the W XYZ Bar for a three hour cocktail session, complete with live DJ tunes. More info here, W XYZ Bar 

I’m Nobody

It’s a very cerebral night at this live music venue in Lat Phrao. Inspired by the poems of Emily Dickinson, music will come from Karine Barman and Yannick Barman, while Maxime Gianinetti and Jean Morisod will present visual elements and live drawing.
