Those who know the history of Tomorrowland festival drama in Thailand are wondering if the biggest EDM festival in the world is really coming to Thailand for the first time in 2026. The answer is: Yeah, probably. 

 

The event has been confirmed by Thai government officials, but here’s the thing about Tomorrowland: it’s hard to know who to trust. Tomorrowland has been teased quite a few times—sometimes by people speculating, sometimes by government rumors. BK reported on this in 2024, when a government official jumped the gun, and got it wrong.

 

That wasn’t the first time for the Tomorrowland tease, with speculation going back over a decade, but this time seems pretty serious. 

 

So, here’s what we know. First, the now-suspended Prime Minister met with Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers and Tomorrowland's Head Of Media & Business Development, Filip Teerlinck on June 25. Afterward, the PM posted on social media that “Tomorrowland in Thailand is one step closer to becoming reality,” and she added that “The project is currently under study and preparation.”

 

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, has said, in no uncertain terms, "Tomorrowland will be hosted in Thailand for the first time in 2026."

 

While the PM is not exactly the flavor of the month right now, Srettha Thavisin made similar claims in December 2023 that went nowhere, echoed by government spokesman Chai Wacharonke.

 

The current PM gave full-throated support that the festival would go ahead, saying "Thailand will not merely serve as the ‘host venue’, but as the heartbeat of the festival.”

 

Since then, media outlets at home and abroad have reported the certainty that the festival will finally be coming to Thailand in 2026, and while this is certainly looking good for EDM fans, no further announcements have been made by Tomorrowland organizers regarding Thailand. Attempts to reach the organizers by BK went unanswered, but no efforts have been made to rebuff the current claims, unlike last year. 

 

So, yes, Tomorrowland is coming. Probably. 

 

Billed as the biggest EDM Festival in the world, the festival will hold its big one in July later this month from Jul 18-20 as well as Jul 25-27. The Thailand version of Tomorrowland will be found in Chonburi, according to current reports.
