A new multi-venue dining destination popped up a couple of weeks ago on Sukhumvit Soi 26, introducing itself as a “community center”—though don’t expect bake sales and badminton.
This is a high-gloss hangout built for Bangkok’s food-savvy, cocktail-thirsty crowd who prefer their community with a side of Wagyu steak. The Shed Bangkok is a polished, open-plan space with four distinct but connected venues, combining high-end food and drink in a stylish, desert-inspired setting filled with cacti, date trees, and terracotta tones.
One of the standout openings is the second branch of Horsamut, the well-regarded Thai coastal restaurant originally located on the riverside with stunning Wat Arun views. The menu here mirrors the
original, with a few new seasonal dishes exclusive to the Soi 26 location.
Expect refined Thai cooking with a focus on bold, coastal flavors at a space known for its dedication to seafood.
Sharing the space is Bimbo Mediterranean, also opening its second location. The original, located just a stone’s throw from Yaowarat, now has a Sukhumvit counterpart for those on the east side of town.
The menu focuses on rustic Mediterranean classics served with a refined touch. Offerings include cold cuts, grilled meats like Wagyu skirt steak (B980) and sea bass (B720), a selection of pastas, and six wood-fired pizzas. Standouts include the generous and slightly spicy Supreme Pizza (B620) with chorizo ibérico, pecorino, roasted peppers, and honey chili jam, as well as the Roasted Beetroot (B280) with caramelized root vegetables and airy whipped labneh.
Dividing these two restaurants, in the center courtyard sits Bou Bou, a bar serving both classic and signature cocktails. Well-known options like Aperol Spritz, Mojito, Mai Tai, and Margarita are on offer (B360), alongside more adventurous drinks such as the Barren (B380)made with bacon fat-washed vodka and Midori, and Night Fuel (B380), a rich blend of cookies and cream liqueur, Kahlua, Campari, and a Hibiki Harmony float.
Bou Bou also serves smoothies, juices, and herbal teas for those looking for non-alcoholic options.
A fourth venue, which will have streetside seating along 26, Casa Bon, is expected to open in the coming month and will be a dedicated bar.
The entire space will seat over 200 guests and is already popular with local groups, hi-so family gatherings, and birthday celebrations. Located just behind K-Village on the quieter side of Sukhumvit, The Shed offers a new type of gathering place that blends design-forward, open-plan dining with a relaxed, communal atmosphere. It’s one to watch.
