Chef Bank is back and smoking up a storm on the corner of Thonglor and Phetchaburi.
Much like the rickety old black pick-up truck that’s lugged around its smoker for ages, Aromkwan has been a restaurant on the move since opening in 2019. First, it launched as a streetside concept in Yen Akat, then moved to Ekkamai before going permanently into pop-up mode for much of the past year.

Now, the beloved Asian smokehouse from chef Vishnu "Bank" Bernard is making another return—both to regular service and its original streetside roots. Starting today (May 16), the restaurant has set up permanent digs on a corner of New Phetchaburi Road and Thonglor, where you’ll find chef Bank and his team smoking up a storm next to their familiar black pickup.

Currently, the operation is delivery and pick-up only (you’ll need to DM them on Facebook or Instagram to order), but chef Bank tells BK that they plan to start adding a modest dine-in area to the setup once the horrendous onslaught of rain ends.

Right now, the menu is kept concise with just five items: Asian slaw, smoked pork knuckle biryani, smoked goat biryani, sriracha wings, and barbecue baby bok choy. Bank describes this as a “starter kit” menu, with more dishes to come soon once the operation expands.

This is all great news for food fans, who’ve been starved of Aromkwan’s Top Tables-worthy smoked eats for ages outside of a few collaborations and pop-up events.
