The rain won’t stop, but neither will the weekend. This week, there is a lot going on with the live music scene—from hip-hop shows at major clubs to some of our favorite bands at local haunts. Also, if you’re in the mood for comedy we’ve got roast battles and improve to mix with bachata and craft beer.

Scribble and Sing

Celebrating our local songwriters, Jam, one of the city’s best spots for live music, will be opening up their stage to Claire Ray, John Lindsay, Rob Saltsman, and Gate Garnglai playing their hearts out. More info here, Jam

Roast Battle Bangkok

Over at Comedy Club Bangkok, it’s time for a classic Roast Battle, pitting the city’s finest local comedians against one another in a battle of wits and insults. Audience members might get a little roasted themselves, so go with thick skin. More info here, Comedy Club Bangkok

 

Gibbeux at Noise House Lat Phrao

Noise House Lat Phrao, the tiny live music venue that’s captured the city’s heart, will be inviting Gibbeux out of France for industrial doom/ambient beat atmospheres and alienated dub. And, while we’re not super sure what that means, it sounds pretty cool. He’ll be joined by Au Sweed, Bankjork, and Aleatory.exe.

 

Sugar Club Presents: TDoubleE, N-GAZ, and 1MILL

This one is for you Thai hip-hop fans out there. With 1MILL and and N-GAZ in the house, DJ TDoubleE will be spinning to keep the crowd going for this epic hip-hop party starting at 10pm. More info here, Sugar Club 

 

The Ultimate Offbeat Karaoke Showdown 

We have a lot of karaoke on our weekend roundups—professional, themed, even on a toilet. But at Yellow Lane this weekend they’re going all out, complete with karaoke-themed games and challenges. They’re turning being tone deaf into a competition. More info here, Yellow Lane

Nerd Alert Quiz

For their first ever quiz night, Public House is going full nerd. If you like saying “Um, actually,” then this might be the place for you. Two Palms Invitational 

Remember when we told you about Two Palms Taproom? Well, now they’re hosting a whole weekend featuring local brews, DJs, a live fireshow, and you’ll even have the chance to check out homebrew supplies if you’re ready to make your own. More info here, Two Palms Taproom 

 

Mustache at Fuschia

Fuschia took home the Best Night Club Award for the BAD Awards in 2025, and on Friday night they’ll be bringing in the tune specialists from Mustache for a party starting at 10pm and going late. More info here, Fuschia

Improv Theater Night: The Harold at Ari

American Pie: Rooftop Party

Emonight Bangkok will be putting on a nostalgic rooftop banger at Cul de Sac featuring all the tunes from the 00s that you came to love and now refuse to admit are still on your Spotify. B35 and Govinda Bhasya Live at Speakerbox

Neilson Hays Library Book Sale

Sometimes it has classical music, sometimes it has classes, sometimes a tree falls on it. There’s always something going down at Neilson Hays Library, and Saturday marks their book sale going through May 25 (closed May 19). Xdinary Heroes ‘Beautiful Mind’

This South Korean rock band under JYP Entertainment's Studio J will be taking on the Bangkok stage this May 17 for a one-night show, first hitting the scene about half a decade ago with “Happy Death Day”. More info here

Busted Takeover x Moo Grob Reggae

Busted at Topgolf Megacity is hosting their Busted Takeover with a pop-up from someone you might know from TikTok stardom: Moo Grob Reggae and his crispy pork belly. For the Saturday-only takeover, Moo Grob Reggae starts serving at 5:30pm. More info here, Topgolf Megacity

Bachata Fever

Ever since this event began, Sundays have been about dancing. Boasting big crowds and an even bigger party, this Latin dance event will feature two different free classes at the same time for beginners and open level, and there will be a pro photographer on site to capture your sick moves. 2025 Gentleman’s Ride

Okay, so this one’s a little niche. This event, in which folks dress up in their best and hit the road on their motorcycles, takes place in more than 1,000 cities worldwide to raise money for men’s health and prostate cancer research. You need to register, but there’s nothing to stop you from hopping on your Honda Scoopy and making a difference in your Sunday best. Ride details here
