Discovering a lifelong love of art

This past weekend, Siam Piwat joined forces with the British Embassy in Thailand to host “Give & Gifted Art Exhibition”, which brought together youth representatives from the Autistic Thai Foundation to learn about art and try their hands at making some of their own. All in all, the participants made over 65 different works, a mixture of drawings and paintings, that showed at the Fashion Gallery 1Fl, Siam Paragon, until Sunday, Aug 25.

“Encouraging young autistic children to engage in a learning activity such as painting is an effort that should be supported,” said H.E. Mr. Brian John Davidson, who represented the British Embassy during the launch event alongside co-hosts from Siam Piwat.  “Apart from grasping the knowledge about art, it promotes a cognitive development, fosters creativity and inspiration, and helps them attain a better sense of focus.”

“Siam Piwat has been a constant force in supporting various communities with multiple opportunities, and being socially responsible for their wellbeing, to induce great benefits and better their quality of life,” said Naratipe Ruttapradid, executive vice-president of operations at Siam Piwat. “This event sees the children displaying their wonderful art skills, accompanied by a learning session helmed by Thailand’s contemporary artist and director of Chalit Art Project & Gallery, Chalit Nakpawan. It is clear that these children have the talent and flair for art as each artwork is beautifully drawn. Also, proceeds generated from this exhibition will be donated to the Autistic Thai Foundation.”
